Glass and marble shower a WOW compared to the previous under sized prefab shower

Challenge

This client had a beautiful marble en suite complete with soaker tub, double sided fireplace and dual sink cabinet. The shower, however, was dwarfed in the large space and the prefabricated version looked out of place with the remaining elegant fixtures.

The client wanted to:

  1. Enlarge the shower to take advantage of the space available.
  2. Change the look and feel of the shower itself to work with the rest of the beautiful en suite.
  3. make the shower workable for both the tall and not-so-tall users.

Solution

The solution involved a number of steps:

  1. The previous shower was removed and water damage that existed was repaired.
  2. A new shower was designed, taking advantage of the full 3' x 5' available.
  3. Marble tiles were selected to coordinate with existing tiles while staying light in colour to ensure the space remained open and large in feel.
  4. Glass walls and a glass door was installed on the side while we kept the end free of glass to allow easy access to towels and to leave the edge of the soaker tub as a place to sit.
  5. A rain shower system was also incorporated along with a shower bar to adjust height of the shower head for different users.
  6. Accessories were added for finishing touches and to create the desired ambiance.

Results

The resulting shower is a "WOW" for this client and now looks perfectly at home with the rest of the en suite.

Drapery Treatment provides privacy and elegance

Challenge

The current sheers on this condo window were tired and allowed the window frame to be seen behind them. The glass wall between the living room and office also did not allow for privacy and separation of the two spaces.

Solution

These two problems were solved quite simply. Two drapery panels were made to frame the sides of the living room window. A matching valance was made to connect the two and made deep enough to hide the window framing. A two sided drape was made for the glass wall between the living room and office.

Results

An elegant, finished look was created for the living room and the double sided drapery treatment for the glass wall allowed for a finished look regardless of what side of the wall you are looking from.
